Portraits Workshop #01 | London Spring 2019


An Insight into Making Portraits

Saturday 30th March 2019

10am - 3pm

This exciting practical workshop led by me, focuses on portraiture, going over the basic principles of photography without getting overly technical so as to explore the medium from an intuitive and hands-on perspective.  

Please note that this course is not designed for novice photographers. Participants should have their own digital SLR camera and be comfortable using it.

Working with natural/available light, the day will consist of:

- a quick overview of the manual functions of your digital SLR camera

- a review of your personal work

- a brainstorm and moodboard session

- a shooting session with a model

- selection and review of the images created

- group feedback

What will you need to bring on the day?

- a selection of around 15 images (prints or digital). This should be a mix of your work and general photo references.

- your digital SLR, charger and cables

- a spare memory card

- A Mac-compatible hard drive or your own laptop

Additional Information

- Course led by me and an assistant

- Number of participants: 4 to 6

- Location: Hackney Wick, E3

- Light snacks and refreshments will be provided but I recommend bringing your own lunch if you have specific diet requirements, especially as there are no shops nearby.
